Final Flash Website!

Now here are those same three pages in the final site. My design changed quite a bit hopefully for the better.

Here is a link to see the entire functioning website.

Flash Website Ideas.

I needed to get all of the information together and come up with a rough draft of what my website would look like. As
you can see, the logo has changed a bit since these pages were designed. Here is an example of three of the pages:

Flash Website Logo

The last big project in the class is to create a small website using flash. I thought for a while about what subject I should choose. I finally decided to do it on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. For those of you that don't know, I lived in Brazil for two years while serving a mission. I thought it would be fun to make a website about Rio de Janeiro since I have a lot of experience with the people and customs.

First, I wanted to design a logo for the s

ite. I have been trying to come up with some new logos for my portfolio. This is the logo that I came up with:

Flash Animation

My first experience with flash was making a short animation. The assignment was to find a short audio clip from a movie. I ended up choosing a clip from Toy Story. For anyone that knows me, it probably isn't a huge surprise. I'm a pretty big fan of Pixar. I also considered doing a clip from The Office, but I couldn't settle on the exact one.

We first started out by making the words from the audio clip into an interesting poster. Here is my poster:

Next we used Flash to make our poster into a moving animation. Here is the URL to my animation. Enjoy!

Tutorial Site

Today in my graphic interface class we had a tutorial site assignment due. Our assignment was to make a webpage tutorial that explains how to do something in HTML/CSS. I wanted to show how to create a rollover image that links to another page. It was kind of funny, because at least 5 other people showed a version of the same thing.

It seems like it would be really simple to create a rollover image, yet I spent hours putting this page together. Much of the time was spend trying to figure out why it wasn't working properly. I feel like I learned a lot though. I hope so, because I will be putting together a much larger website in the next few weeks.

Here is a link to the tutorial site I made:

Catching Up

As you can see by the date, it has been awhile since my last post. I am going to try and do better with keeping up things.

On August 31 I had my first experience with HTML. I had a chance to make a webpage about myself. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

It was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I found that it didn't take me very long to get the hang of it though.

I have also been working on an html website. I decided to do a photo website. My sister-in-law takes lots of photos, so I decided to make a website to showcase all the photos and post information about her and her small photography business.

Here are some of my first rough sketches of possible layouts for the gallery pages of the website. I'm sorry they are a little small:

And here are 3 Photoshop versions of the website. They should give you a better idea how the site may look.

This week I have also had a chance to learn and use a little bit of CSS in Dreamweaver. I am just realizing the possibilities that await.

First Post

I am a first time blogger. I am creating this blog for my Graphic Interface Design class. Over the next few months I will be documenting my creative process as I progress in the class.
